Situated close to Heathrow Airport, the site experiences constant traffic from coaches, taxis, delivery vehicles and hotel guests, making a robust pavement construction essential.
The works included removal of failed block paving, installation of a heavy-duty drainage channel, reconstruction using a 100mm AC32 base course, 60mm AC20 binder course and 40mm 10mm SMA surface course, together with new thermoplastic line marking forming two clearly defined traffic lanes.

The existing block paving had deteriorated due to years of heavy coach and commercial vehicle traffic, creating an uneven surface and increasing maintenance requirements. The client required a permanent engineering solution with improved drainage and traffic management.
Coast & Counties excavated and removed the failed block paving, prepared the formation, installed a heavy-duty drainage channel, laid a 100mm AC32 base course, a 60mm AC20 binder course and a 40mm 10mm SMA surface course. New thermoplastic line marking was then applied to create two traffic lanes, improving vehicle flow and safety.
The project was completed in just two days with minimal disruption.
